Made with milk from our own herd of Jersey Cows with a little added goats milk, Savour is based on a young French Savoie style cheese with a rich & creamy flavour with a slight tang and the smooth texture achieved through washing the curds. Savour was launched to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Step aside cheddar, Sharpham Savour makes a divine alternative for cheese on toast, with perhaps a few (South Devon) chilli flakes. For wine it works perfectly with the light fruitiness of a sauvignon blanc and particularly well with Sharpham Estate Selection.

The washing refers to a process where some whey is removed from the curds and then hot water is used to wash the curds. This results in a cheese with a lower acidity and a slight sweetness coming from the milk.
A full size cheese will have a maximum shelf life of 1 month from the date of dispatch and 2 months for our wholesale customers. Smaller cheeses or cut cheeses will ripen faster and will have a shorter shelf life. Please specify if there is a particular date on which you wish to eat the cheese.
